5 Watermelon Pupsicle Recipes for Dogs
Five tested watermelon-based pupsicle recipes, from the simplest plain cube to a peanut butter swirl. Each lists calorie count, allergen notes, and the ingredient checks that matter (xylitol-free peanut butter, onion-free broth, plain coconut water). All recipes use the ice-cube-tray method from our preparation guide.
Three label rules before you start
- Peanut butter: must be xylitol-free. Check ingredients.
- Bone broth: must contain no onion, garlic, leeks, or chives. Low or no added salt.
- Yogurt: plain only. No flavours, no added sugar, no xylitol.

Method
- Blend watermelon smooth.
- Soften peanut butter slightly (10 seconds in microwave) for pourable consistency.

Method
- Blend both together.
- Pour into moulds.
- Freeze 4 to 6 hours.
Notes: Savoury option for dogs that find pure fruit unappealing. Confirm broth contains no onion, garlic, leeks, or high salt.
Storage Across All Recipes
- Once frozen, pop cubes out and transfer to a labelled freezer bag.
- Use within 2 to 3 months for best texture.
- Do not refreeze a thawed cube.
- Watermelon does not technically spoil in a freezer, but freezer burn reduces palatability past 3 months.
